Background

Quitter circle app was a partnership project between Pfizer and the American Lung Association and entrusted Modus Create to build an MVP hybrid app on the ionic framework with the aim to create a community supporting people looking to quite cigarettes.

Problem Statement

A study survey explored barriers that prevent people from successfully quitting smoking and found that 85 percent of current smokers express worry about the health consequences of smoking, but only 36 percent of them have a plan in place to quit.

Friends and family can offer motivation and support to help a smoker stay strong during their quit journey therefore Pfizer wanted to build an app that within a few clicks, smokers can start a quit team with friends and family, find resources to connect with a healthcare provider and crowdsource funds to support the cost of a quit attempt.

Team Goals

Process

My role on this project was to work closely with the UX designer and create the visual interface of the app, presesnt to stakeholders and have it ready in a prototype for some quick testing. In our first week, we had our project kickstart and through collaboration, we aligned the goals and from all the research that has been done. After grooming all the info, the UX designer and myself built a quick visual flow with all the requirements and features needed. This way we had a visual story for better clarity within the product team.

After the kickstart we landed into a cadence of having 3 meetings each week: manage roadmap & sequencing, discuss feature & ux strategy, and design presentation. In the strategy meetings we would brainstorm and whiteboard possible solutions which were then taken into design for additional concept exploration. Final designs were decided by consensus with the full Product team.
